MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY

The screening, isolation and characterization of microbes are critical for success in biotechnology discipline. Microbes provide with rich variety (including beneficial and pathogenic microbes) of structure, forms, and compounds that has been efficiently utilized in many functional domains. At TSBS, the Microbiology Laboratory caters to the biotechnology and applied microbiology courses. The following are the list of instruments in the microbiology facility-

Stainless steel steam jacket, lid, Neoprene rubber gasket, steam pressure gauge fitted to the unit to indicate steam pressure.

Safety valve to release pressure if exceeds safety limit

4. HOT AIR OVEN 2 YORCO YSI 431D Outer wall- CRCA sheets duly powder coated.

Inner chamber- Aluminium/stainless steel with ribs on walls.

Insulation- 75mm thick, high grade glass/mineral wool. Heating element- nichrome wire, adjustable height. Temperature .range : 50C to 250C
