As a part of the engineering curriculum, the BPUT has encouraged the concept of workshops in improvement of language communications mostly in English. This has been quite inspiring for other course students as well. Although such workshops are not mandatory for other courses, it has been felt necessary that adequate help should be extended particularly to students who have their schooling in the Oriya medium. In order to enable them to succeed with the recruiters and eventually to communicate effectively in their day-to-day office work, it is necessary that the students speak freely and confidently and put across their ideas in English language. In view of the above, aided by the appropriate computer hardwares, other gadgets and the relevant softwares, Trident has started conducting leisure workshops for improvement of English communication which is a free-of-charge facility available to the interested students who usually become members of TCC (Trident Communication Club). In the last two academic sessions we had specially designed communication sessions built into their timetables which was not a part of their university curriculum. This was introduced in the third semester which continued till the fourth semester, and was handled by our in-house faculty members. The sessions were so designed that it was more of fun than work but at the same time learning happened. The training was so designed that it covered programs on Developing Language Skill Building Confidence to Communicate Effectively Developing Structured Thinking Importance of Body Language(Non Verbal Communication) in Career Building From the fifth semester, training of the students was outsourced, which was handled by qualified & experienced trainers of the local vendor like Confidence Factory of Bhubaneswar who take care of their spoken English & Pan India vendors like Gradient & Universal Education, who took care of their verbal ability, for their recruitment online & offline tests. Going into the future, we are considering many proposals with more interesting techniques from Pan India vendors.
