TSBS faculties are committed to value-added and resourceful research and development activities that nurtures and advances innovative bio technologies among researchers and entrepreneurial skills among the students. The faculties of TSBS are also tagged to an exclusive research entity named ‘Trident Advanced Research Group’ under the aegis of Trident Group of Institutions. Intensive attention and details are laid to all the Master’s degree programme students for completion of project internships in-house or in accomplished National level organizations/industries. The intramural research funds for pilot-scale projects to faculty mentors necessitates and encourages student partnerships in research initiatives and presentation of important findings as publications and in conferences. Extramural funds are seeked from Government Departments such as DST, DBT, ICAR, ICMR, BARC, Ayush etc. for basic and applied biotechnology based proposals. The extramural funding proposals have seen necessary collaborations from reputed Government research labs and industries. Consultancy projects are arranged by faculties and currently some molecular informatics work have been conducted in collaboration with Korean research labs.

An institutional ethics committee (IEC) has been constituted as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines for necessary ethical approval regarding project proposals with human subjects and clinical samples. The names and designations of the committee members are listed as follows:
